# Kaushik Hegde

I work across UI/UX design, graphic design, and front-end development. I bring a mechanical engineering background to interfaces, visual systems, and interactive prototypes.

Volvo Group Pvt Ltd
- Ran time-and-motion studies on CKD kitting. Saved 24 minutes per operator each day.
- Ran a feasibility study with spaghetti diagrams and cost-benefit analysis.
- Avoided low-return investments.
- Improved inventory data accuracy. Tuned the stock-check frequency.
- Designed ergonomic trolley solutions. Improved operator safety and workflow.

#### Executive - Material Planning & Logistics
Volvo Auto India Pvt Ltd
- Planned supply for 6 product models from 4 international plants, on Excel and SAP.
- Built a linear forecasting model from historical data. Saved ₹800,000 a year.
- Ran a local-sourcing initiative. Cut procurement cost by 43%.
- Managed the full spare-parts lifecycle at 100% availability.
- Improved JIT flow. Lead time fell 40%, from 5 days to 3.
- Built a Power BI dashboard for real-time inventory. Saved 30 minutes each week.
- Set up inventory management from scratch - ABC analysis and a 2-bin system.
- Covered the manager role. Led monthly plan reviews and owned SRM PO releases.

### Find the Tempo
**Type:** Web app · Next.js
Turns a screenshot of a song list into links you can play. OCR reads each track and artist, then builds one search link per streaming service, with no paid APIs.

### Nidhi
**Type:** Prototype · JavaScript
An unofficial redesign of EPFO member access. One sign-in for passbook, claims and profile, clearer sign-in errors, and password rules shown before a reset. All data is made up.

### OpenBoard
**Type:** Local app · React
A moodboard that runs on your own computer. Your images stay as plain files in a folder you choose, and OpenBoard adds tags, folders, notes, a free canvas and a mind map.

**Type:** CLI tool
Shows your Claude plan usage in the Claude Code status line: the 5-hour session and the 7-day week as colored bars, plus which day of the weekly window you are on.

### Strudel skill
**Type:** Assistant skill
Teaches beginners to write, explain and fix Strudel live-coding music patterns, with no music theory or JavaScript needed. One source works in Claude Code, Codex CLI and ChatGPT.

### Airbnb: the anxious gap
**Type:** UX case study
A solo study of the time between booking and check-in. A heuristic review and small guerrilla tests found five problems across Search and Trips, with a fix for each.

### Obsidian project memory
**Type:** Assistant skill
Gives each project a small memory in an Obsidian vault: an overview, current status, a dated log and a decision record. An assistant reads it to pick up where you left off.
